Portland, OR — Catholic Charities’ El Programa Hispano will host a college fair for Latino students interested in higher education from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the Clark Family Center, located at 2740 SE Powell Blvd. in Portland.
Advancing Latino Academic Success (ALAS) came up with the idea for the event, with the goal of making higher education more accessible for Latino students.
“Our mission coincides with a lot of colleges’ goals of increasing the enrollment of Latino students,” said ALAS Program Coordinator Evelyn Salazar. “Every student who attends will receive a folder containing information about scholarships. We will also have information about Oregon’s Tuition Equity Bill, which if passed could benefit a lot of the students we work with.”
Registration is not required for this event. For more information, contact Evelyn Salazar at esalazar@catholiccharitiesoregon.org or call 503-489-6833.
